Dear [NAME], I pray this letter finds you in health and prospering in the Lord. Please consider this letter an urgent call from the Lord to His people. For several weeks, the Lord has been speaking to me about a spirit of repentance. I have not released a letter to the body on this matter until now as I have really wanted to be careful and get the heart of the Lord on this matter. Here is what He is speaking to the nation, but to the church first. I am pouring a spirit of repentance on all flesh, and many who are called by my name have not heard. They have heard, but dismissed the very thought that I am a righteous God, that I demand righteousness and obedience to my word and my desires upon my people. I have called the nation to repent but my people, the church, have been so busy that they seem dull of hearing my words. I have spoken to many about fasting and prayer in these last hours, but they have dismissed my requests as their thoughts as if the leading had not come from me. Come close to me today, this is not a time to grow dull of hearing. Do not ignore my leading as there are many souls hanging in the balance, and I have called you to speak my truth to them in love. Precious saints, the Word tells us that His sheep hear His voice, and will not listen to the voice of a stranger, yet the church is clearly not hearing the same voice. If it were, there would be simple agreement on many issues that are dividing the church today. Even the very foundations of our belief are challenged from pulpit to pulpit across the nation. I had a conversation last week with Gayle about how you go into one church and hear a strong message about the grace of God, and go across town to a church covered by the same denomination and hear a message of judgement. Where is the balance? Where is God in all of this? Would the Holy Spirit speak one thing to one minister and the exact opposite to another? What the church lacks is hearing the voice of God, and submitting to the Word of God in every matter. Here is what I believe He is speaking to the churches today. Repent! He wants to clean us up so He can pick us up and spend eternity with a bride that is spotless and without blemish. Looking at the feast of trumpets (Rosh Hashana) as the high holy days where God calls His people to a place of deep examination of their hearts and subsequent repentance. What then follows is Yom Kippur which is the Jewish day of repentance which is considered to be the holiest and most solemn day of the year. It is also known as the day of atonement and reconciliation to God. These two feasts are approaching, coming at the end of September and early October. The amazing thing about this letter you are getting is this. I have not studied the Jewish holidays, and honestly am very un-learned in that area (I am going to take a crash course on them though!), but Gayle has studied these feasts and days. I have kept telling Gayle how the Lord is speaking to me about the spirit of repentance and that I feel He is wanting to clean His people up so He can pick them up. Somewhere in our conversations she mentioned Rosh Hashana, and I say "what exactly is that feast about?" She starts telling me the meaning of these feasts, and the lights went on for both of us at the same time! Let me sum it up plainly. I believe these 2 holidays are going to come with great transition and change in the world as we know it, and God wants His people prepared to meet him very soon. I dont profess to know the day or hour, but I know the season is at hand. The world is groaning, and the ones who should be the most ready are sleeping. If you look at Revelation 2 and 3, all you will see there is a call to repent from the things that separate us from Him. Somewhere in those 7 churches, you will find everything that is good, and everything that is bad about the modern church (the people of God) today. There is instruction to turn to Him, and we cannot ignore the voice of the living God. Turn to Him with prayer, suplication, pray for your unsaved family members, pray for your neighbors and co-workers, Jesus is coming very soon, and there is a lost and dying world right outside your very doors that need to know Him today!
